Research is fundamental in reducing the burden of oral diseases and conditions and reducing inequalities. The full continuum of research (from basic science to clinical and translational research to implementation sciences to population and global health research) must be supported. These research areas will be explored from a perspective of what is likely to change clinical practice in delivering oral health care.

Dr Christopher Fox
Dr. Christopher H. Fox is the executive director of the International Association for Dental Research (IADR) and the American Association for Dental Research (AADR). The IADR is a non-profit organization with a mission to advance research and increase knowledge for the improvement of oral health worldwide, to support and represent the oral health research community, and to facilitate the communication and application of research findings. The IADR hosts the largest dental and craniofacial research meeting in the world.
