Fractures in Endodontically Treated Teeth: Common Risk Factors and Strategies for Avoidance… Dr Anil Kishen
$13.00 – $25.00
This lecture will offer a biomechanical foundation to explain the causes and steps to prevent clinically relevant fractures in root-filled teeth.
Description
Fractures of endodontically treated teeth are not an uncommon occurrence in clinical practice. Iatrogenic and non-iatrogenic risk factors have been associated with the loss of mechanical integrity in restored root-filled teeth. This lecture will offer a biomechanical foundation to explain the causes and steps to prevent clinically relevant fractures in root-filled teeth.
Learning Outcomes
• Will learn the biomechanical response of endodontically treated teeth to forces
• Will be able to understand the causes and role of risk factors for fractures in endodontically treated teeth
Dr Anil Kishen
Currently a Full Professor of Endodontics at the University of Toronto, Anil has been published in over 200 peer-reviewed publications as well as co-editing three textbooks. A co-inventor in 10 patents and invention disclosures, he serves as an Associate Editor for the Journal of Endodontics, Endodontic Topics and BMC Microbiology. He is also the Principal Investigator of a federally funded laboratory that focuses on nanomaterial and phototherapeutic research for endodontic applications.
