This session will explore the scientific database on Zirconia implants and the difference to that of titanium implants. The trend on the last IDS (International dental show, Cologne) shows the reaction of major companies to an increasing demand of alternatives in implantology. Advantages and disadvantages are discussed with clinical cases collected in the past 10 years.

A/Prof Marcel Wainwright
Involved in the field of implantology since 1997, Marcel is an active and certified member of the European Society of Cosmetic Dentistry. A visiting professor and guest lecturer at a number of universities worldwide including University of North Carolina (Chapel Hill) and University of Guangzhou and Dalian (China), he is involved in education centres for laser medicine, ultrasonic surgery, implantology and esthetic dentistry. He has been published in more than 50 international publications.
