Description
An ageing population is associated with increased disease frequency and an increased number of prescribed medications taken by each individual. Polypharmacy in an ageing population is associated with an increased risk of drug reaction which may present orally. New drugs and targeted therapies are introduced annually and the dental team need reminding of the importance of the drug history, the impact of any new drug on the orofacial region and how medication may compromise dental treatment.
