$13.00 – $25.00
Identify and appropriately refer individuals with oral manifestations of common systemic diseases.
An ageing population is associated with increased disease frequency and an increased number of prescribed medications taken by each individual. Dental professionals can identify systemic disease and its recurrence/increased severity by the presence of oral symptoms and signs. Polypharmacy in an ageing population is associated with an increased risk of drug reaction which may present orally. New drugs and targeted therapies are introduced annually and the dental team need reminding of the importance of the drug history, the impact of any new drug on the orofacial region and how medication may compromise dental treatment.

• Identify and appropriately refer individuals with oral manifestations of common systemic diseases
• Review the importance of the drug history
