Advances in soft tissue optical imaging have impacted the way we diagnose, stage and manage oral mucosal pathologies. These modalities cover a wide variety of approaches including reflectance, fluorescence, and spectroscopy, with inherent strengths and weaknesses. This presentation will discuss optical imaging approaches as they relate to oral cancer and precancerous pathology, and how to implement these in routine clinical practice.
