A/Prof Axel Spahr
With training in microbiology, molecular biology, extensive experience in basic science research, animal research and clinical research, Axel’s research interests include periodontal regeneration, bone regeneration, periodontitis and systemic diseases as well as antimicrobial therapy. He has lead large externally funded research projects and is the author of numerous international peer-reviewed publications. A board registered periodontal specialist, Axel is the current President of the Periodontal Research Group of the International Association of Dental Research (IADR).
