51. Interproximal Reduction (IPR) – When? Why? How? How much?… Dr Morris Rapaport
$13.00 – $25.00
Saturday 4th May, 4:00 PM – 4:45 PM, HALL E
Description
IPR is often regarded as an essential component of clear aligner therapy and is frequently built into our treatment plan by default. Is that justified? We should understand all the indications for IPR and if it is indicated, when to do it and how much enamel to remove. We will also look at what can go wrong and some specific indications for IPR that are peculiar to aligner therapy because of the occlusal coverage.
Learning Outcomes:
Know when interproximal reduction (IPR) is indicated for your orthodontic case and when it’s not.
Improve your understanding of why you would use IPR as opposed to expansion, proclination or extraction.
Know the various ways to undertake IPR, the maximum amount of reduction, the precautions and the finishing.
Understand why IPR may be required in some cases even if it is not obvious because there is so little crowding in the dental arches.
