Endodontic procedural problems are an unplanned and unwanted occurrence in day-to-day clinical practice. Mishaps can be frustrating for both practitioner and patient, and may have detrimental effects on treatment outcome. This presentation will describe different types of endodontic mishaps, how to recognise them, how to manage them, how they impact prognosis, and how to avoid them.

How and why a complication can affect prognosis.
Once a procedural mishap has happened, know how to manage the situation so as to minimise the impact on prognosis.
